People, ideas and innovation lead to solutions to global issues such as energy poverty.

Bottles of Hope’s mission is to distribute solar lamps to those in need in Asia, whether it be to reduce the use of kerosene lamps or allow children to study during monsoon season.

Where it all began

Bottles of Hope’s first operational site was the Nilgiri Hills, South India. During our first distribution in 2018/19, we impacted over 500 individuals with sustainable light sources!

OUR PROJECTS

Bottles of Hope has been operating for 4 years and has achieved multiple distributions and awareness campaigns with much more planned!

the next step in our journey
’Build your own’

Bottles of Hope will be selling Build Your Own solar lamp kits in the UK in 2022! For every kit sold a solar lamp will be distributed in Asia through one of our project partners.

We are aligning our organisational ethos by EDUCATING people on energy poverty and green solutions while HELPING communities.

What are people saying?

“Emma from Bottles of Hope delivered a really engaging presentation to our Year 10s on the charity. The students were able to find out more about how Bottles of Hope came about and what it tries to achieve in the communities in which it works. Following the talk, they were inspired to organise some small-scale charitable events to raise money to support the work of Bottles of Hope. This was a really useful learning experience for them in so many different ways. Thank you Emma.”

— Claire Riches, Head of Year, The Abbey School

“We were proud to support Bottles of Hope at our live crowdfunding event in partnership with EY in 2018. Bottles of Hope was able, with only a small amount of funding, to positively impact the lives of over 500 people by providing safe, sustainable lighting. Emma and Jehan were incredibly professional to work with and provided us with a detailed impact report following the funding. Their approach supports people on many levels and ticks lots of the boxes that funders like us look for – an excellent return on investment, innovative approach and entrepreneurial business model.”
